Speaking at the Chambers County Museum
Marie Hughes, Director of the Chambers County Museum at Wallisville, has posted my recent talk on YouTube. My October 16, 2025 talk on my two-part biographical novel A Woman of Marked Character was a part of the fall lecture series offered by the museum.
I enjoyed the evening so very much speaking at the museum that houses the collection of my main character, Sarah Ridge Paschal Pix. Sarah lived from 1856 until her death in 1891 on her ranch in the southern portion of Chambers County at Smith Point. In attendance at the lecture were area residents familiar with Sarah’s history. I’m so grateful that a friend of the Paschal family brought a burgundy silk cape Sarah had worn, probably while she lived in Galveston from 1848-1856. It is truly a treasure!
Here are photos from the evening and my visit to Sarah’s former ranch. Thanks to everyone!
